How to Communicate to Get What You Want

How many of you have found it hard at some point in your life to ask for what you want?

I know during my earlier years, I found myself letting the fear of rejection consume me; so I wouldn’t ask. Why? Because I had already implanted in my mind that the answer was “no.” Silly you say, right?

Well, I don’t think I’m alone in that thinking. I believe people are accustomed to holding back on asking for something they desire.

In a lot of cases, it happens when people want to ask for a raise or a promotion, but usually won’t because of the fear of rejection.

What I’ve learned later in life is the worst thing a person can say is NO, that’s it.

When I started this blog, I was nervous about asking strangers to be a contributor to my blog. Yet, I persevered and asked anyway because all they could do was say NO. I’m so glad I did; I have met some amazing people and I have social media to thank for that. My willingness to push pass my fear taught me to simply ask, and I implore you to do the same. Opportunities arise if you muster up enough nerve to just ask. But, so many struggle with finding the nerve or the words to simply ask.

It is for that reason I have invited Angela Byrd, a PR Specialist, to talk to you about how to effectively ask for what you want.
